What is TRIP?
TRIP is a program in which families can earn tuition credit by purchasing gift certificates (through Grandville Christian) to many retailers (e.g., groceries, gas, clothing, restaurants, and much more.)
GCS purchases certificates at a discount then sells the certificates at face value to participating families. The difference is then used to offset tuition expenses.
Anyone in the community may participate including GCS families, future GCS families, grandparents, and friends, and then designate their TRIP earnings to the account of a presently enrolled family, or anyone enrolling in the future.
The percentage of credit earned will vary from store to store, but a typical percentage will range from 2% to 20%. A complete list of participating businesses and percentages offered is available on the order form or by clicking here.
The certificates supplied through TRIP are the stores’ actual gift certificates and can be used to buy anything that you would normally buy with cash, check, or credit card. Some stores will allow you to use certificates to make payments on charge accounts. A small portion of credits earned is retained and given to the Parent Club to be used for expenses that are not part of the normal operating budget (such as playground equipment and classroom improvements).
