What makes the
Polka Dot Garden Preschool
unique?
Curriculum
- All programs offer a rotating two-year, theme-based curriculum:
- A ‘rotating two-year curriculum’ means that students who attend our program two years in a row will be taught using new themes each year
- A ‘theme-based curriculum’ means that learning activities are planned around a central weekly theme
- The focus for all four-year-olds is Kindergarten readiness skills
- Children in a combined-age class will participate in small group age-appropriate instruction as well as some whole group activities
- Our curricular goals emphasize the following areas:
- Large and fine motor skills, math readiness, reading readiness, social and emotional development, self-help skills, science, Bible, and artistic expression
Program Choices
- A Mon./Wed. morning Preschool Program for 4-year-olds:
- Class runs from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m.
- A Mon./Wed. afternoon Preschool Program for 4-year-olds:
- Class runs from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m.
- Children must be four by December 1st to enroll in the 4-year-old program
- A Tues./Thurs. morning Preschool Program for 3 and 4-year-olds:
- Class runs from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m.
- A Tues./Thurs. afternoon Preschool Program for 3 and 4-year-olds:
- Class runs from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m.
- Children must be at least three by September 1st to enroll
Additional Friday Morning Program
- Open only to 4-year-olds enrolled in any of our two-day preschool programs
- A new theme of study is planned for each Friday
- Register early… this program fills up quickly
Other Things You Should Know:
- Polka Dot Garden Preschool strives to keep low teacher-student ratios in an effort to provide the best educational experience possible
- Our staff is CPR trained and First Aid certified
- Toilet training is not a requirement
- Open mid-September through May
- A non-refundable enrollment fee of $50.00 is required to reserve a spot for your child
