Second grade is the year to put into practice the strategies students have learned and to use prior knowledge from previous grades to apply those strategies.
As students journey through second grade they learn that God has an amazing plan for their life.
They learn that by striving to be who God wants them to be, by putting others first, and by working hard God will prosper them.
As they investigate God’s animal kingdom, celebrate Jesus’ birth with believers around the world, build lasting relationships with their buddies in Kenya, discuss the role African Americans and the Women in history have had in forming who we are, and carefully examine how God has knit our bodies together to be uniquely created in His image they begin to see God’s plan unfold before them.
Second grade is the year to put into practice the strategies students have learned and to use prior knowledge from previous grades to apply those strategies.
It is a safe place to learn that they are responsible for the information presented in school and to remember it and apply it to God’s world.
Bible lessons in second grade span the entire Bible: from the Old to the New Testament, from creation to The New Jerusalem. As we move through God’s word we see how His promises to the Israelites were fulfilled and that gives us the assurance that God’s promises to us will also be fulfilled. Prayer and Bible memory is a very important and meaningful part of our classroom study time.
