Upon graduating from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Ruth Vander Heide first taught 4th grade at Lynden Christian School in Washington and then moved to South Holland, Illinois.  There she taught middle school language arts and PE.  Ruth’s Masters degree was earned at GVSU and she has been teaching here at GCS for the last 20 years.  Ruth feels it is an honor and privilege to teach.  She thanks God for the passion for teaching and for children.  Ruth feels everyday is a humbling, new experience filled with adventure, opportunity, and enrichment.
